2008

I am writing to you about a wonderful, intelligent and dedicated student in your program. Kathryn Todryk [GWU Law 2008] was assigned a public defender for my son [...].

[... My son] ran over to try to break up the fight. [... My son] was charged with simple assault.

Kathryn had the presence of mind to take a photo of the bump on [my son's] head. After representing him at his arraignment, she went with him to an [... administrative] hearing. She came prepared with subpoenas for surveillance videos [...] where the incident occurred, as well as for statements taken [...]. Her quick thinking proved invaluable [...]. The video was able to prove that [my son] was telling the truth, that [...] he acted to defend others.

I truly commend her. She is bright, creative and knowledgeable. Kathryn has excellent instincts. She was also very available to speak with me, any time I had questions. I am grateful for her involvement in my son's case. I believe Kathryn will make an outstanding lawyer.

2007

I just want to say thank you to [Ann Marie] and all of you at DCLAWSTUDENTS.

I came to the office on Friday, stressed and confused, I waited 2 hours before seeing someone, so I was in a bad mood. Anyway, she helped me tremendously! I went to court [the next week], focused and certain of what to do, all because I came into the office on Friday. I came in for help with a pending eviction. The judge stayed the eviction until [the end of the month], which is perfect, I'd plan to move by that date. Every thing worked out great!! I thank GOD for each of you. Again, THANK YOU, EACH OF YOU, I really appreciate what you do for so many at no cost!

2006

I have had three very professional and very informable law students assist my family and myself with our housing issues. Each student took the case to a different level of satisfaction for me. Although my case took a little more than two years to get any real positive results, without the law students I don't know where we would be or what our mental status would be. The law students pushed, pulled, phoned, and photographed any and all things needed to get our points across. Thank you to everyone that aided myself and my family in this matter and good luck to all the law students in their future careers.

I came to you when I was distraught and in a mess
I'd gone to so many government agencies and put to the test
My home for thirty five years was vanishing without a sound
When your warmth and physical work made my spirits rebound
I'm still here but you've graduated and you're going back home
