A Little Justice Goes a Long Way
was made by Stephanie Brown, alumna of the class of '07 and
the principal of Amicus Media as a gift to commemorate the history of
DCLSIC. Presented at this year's Lever Awards Dinner celebrating our
40th anniversary, the film was received with great enthusiasm.
Recently, Stephanie shared the following with us:
"I had hoped to give back to
the community as a
lawyer when I graduated from Georgetown,
but
I decided to pursue my first passion, filmmaking, instead. I found
myself
still wanting to work on projects where I could make a difference,
though. As a
student attorney in the civil division, I was touched by the situations
in
which many of LSIC's clients found themselves. While I worked hard at
LSIC,
I've always felt like I didn’t do enough. Making the film was a way to
do more
and to help an even greater number of people. In allowing people to
actually
see and hear what LSIC has done and continues to do for the community,
and the
passion with which the staff and students go about accomplishing LSIC's
mission, it is my hope that the film will move viewers to support the
organization in whatever way they can because LSIC is a very necessary
organization for both the community and for students. I'm extremely
grateful
for the opportunity."
